DESCRIPTION
Socks can seem challenging to the beginner knitter. This class will break down the simple sock into steps. Learn how to knit the heel flap, do a heel turn, pick up for gussets & the kitchener stitch in this class, using magic loop technique, two circular needles or DPNs (double pointed needles).
Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27, 6-8 pm
PREREQUISITE
Completion of an advanced knitting class, beyond the basics. You should be familiar with knitting, purling, M1 increase, k2tog & ssk decreases.
SKILL LEVEL
Beginners who are super comfortable with knit, purl, cast on & bind off, & have completed a simple project following a pattern.

TECHNIQUES TO LEARN
Knitting in the round using magic loop or 2 circular needles, kitchener stitch, heel flap, turn the heel, pick up stitches to knit the gusset.
MATERIALS TO BRING
100 g DK or sport weight sock yarn
3.25 mm 32 inch circular needles
scissors
stitch markers
Sock pattern is provided. In this class, you will knit a single sock using magic loop or 2 circular needles
IMPORTANT NOTE 1
Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies for the class.
Should supplies be required & bought in shop, a 10% discount will be applied to a one time purchase only, before or on the first day of class. Customers showing their TFN tote bag will receive an additional 5% discount.
Staff will confirm the class registration details at time of discounted supplies purchase.
