13 NEW HAND KNIT DESIGNS INSPIRED BY THE VINTAGE SHETLAND PROJECT
Susan Crawford’s designs have long been associated with a vintage aesthetic but how to translate that into your everyday wardrobe can sometimes be difficult. In Evolution, Susan has taken inspiration from the vintage garments she studied and recreated in The Vintage Shetland Project and translated them into highly wearable, contemporary pieces; designed to be worn and fun to knit.
Each design is modelled by Susan, exploring her own evolution after a double mastectomy as a result of breast cancer and also turning 50. These powerful images are modelled by Susan without prosthesis to hopefully normalise an often hidden result of surgery.
Thirteen contemporary, highly-wearable, Fair Isle or lace designs for women featuring design and pattern elements from The Vintage Shetland Project but with a modern fit and contemporary styling making them perfect for your every day wardrobe.
There are a range of designs in the collection including sweaters, cardigans, hats, shawls, socks and mittens featuring stranded colourwork and lace stitch patterns.
All garment patterns have been written to fit from 28 inch (70cm) to 62 inch (155cm) chest.
